Temporal
Every game narrative I've worked on has been a full on comedy, and for good reason, comedy's easily the genre I'm most comfortable with.
That aside, I've always been a fan of stories with a more serious tone, if only for the more humanized characters.

Temporal is a book I started around the time of my first narrative game, Legs. Though I enjoyed writing Legs's witty, absurdist dialog, it did become tiresome to do for days on end.
Instead of making my breaks "not writing" like someone who still has their sanity, I thought it best to instead balance my absurdist narrative by writing a different story that would serve as a polar opposite.

Temporal is a tragic fantasy, set inside a universe of recursive clocks, each one year apart from each other. Astronomers in this universe look through the clock face in the sky to see one year into the future.
After a strange phenomenon labeled as 'The Collision', the recursive universe collapses in on itself, causing the world to split into chunks of different time periods.

The story switches between the perspective of five characters:
-Sol, the main protagonist who witnessed herself dying in a year's time.
-Mifa, an experienced fighter and Sol's childhood friend.
-Lao, a nobody who's disconnected from both his past and the world around him.
-Reigh, Sol's father and the most infamous astronomer in history.
-Theodore, an outcast prince looking to restore the world to the vision of the gods.
Though each of the five characters have their own arcs and goals, they're united under the idea of bringing the world back together.
NOTE: this page has been hidden as I've removed the old page linking to the book. The book is still being written, but as I've nothing to show for it, there's little need for me to put it on my portfolio.
